Cranberries are often grown in enclosures like this, which are then flooded. The berries then float for harvest.

This is Mingo’s in Calais, not the only one in eastern Maine.

  1. I remember the color of the berries while sitting on top of the trash heap(landfill) on Cape Cod. (Ocean Spray berries) which I also used to haul loads of but not in a nasty trash trailer 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving.
