Hard to say! Canning and herbal medicine are both conserving old ways but are being reappreciated by folks new to it too. Im one of the new folks and have old books about homesteading etc

Definitely. Self-reliance is a conservative ideology. At least in today’s political climate where liberals and progressives are pushing for so much government dependency.
