I remember a time, as a teen, when a friend had to back the car his Dad let him borrow, over three miles from a country road to his home in town. He ruefully admitted that he couldn’t get it to go forward, expecting a tongue-lashing and loss of car privileges. His Dad calmly reached into the car…. and released the emergency brake that he’d set. 🙄
