NATURALLY UNFIT FOR THE WHITE HOUSE?

After all of the delusional accusations about Obama’s citizenship and religion, hearing charges that Ted Cruz is not a “natural born” American and thus Constitutionally barred from the presidency comes as an ironic twist. This one might actually have legs, factually speaking.

We don’t expect him to quit that easily, of course. So this could get interesting, especially if the natives get restless.

    1. The new twist, of course, is Trump’s decision to run with it. At least we aren’t seeing phony documents being waved in front of the camera. Ah, the political circus …

  1. George Romney ran for President many years ago and he had been born in a Central American country, I forget which. It was determined then that because his parents were American Citizens that he was a “Natural Born Citizen” and thus eligible. The charge against Senator Cruiz is that only his mother was an American Citizen and that she had surrendered that citizenship prior to Senator Cruiz’s birth in order to vote in a Canadian election. If this is true, then Senator Cruiz had no American parents at birth and thus is not a “Natural Born” citizen. However, there is no statute or case law defining Natural Born Citizen so this is a sore subject.

    1. As you say, IF this is true. We’ve seen enough unfounded accusations rumored about the scene previously to shudder in disgust.
Of course, we’re still a long way from the convention and the race is just starting to heat up. What if Cruz arrives in Cleveland in July with enough delegates to deadlock the convention but not win outright? Even if he were ruled ineligible for the White House, could he still wheel and deal for position?
At the moment I’m pondering the possible impact of a snowstorm forecast for Tuesday when the primary happens.
