TRUMPED BY … McCAIN?

Is the Donald about to go Missing in Action? Or is he just a Prisoner of Wordiness?

Or, more critically, did he just misjudge his fan base … and their power to fire him?

We didn’t expect anything this damaging to Trump’s White House campaign this early in the race. He already has the largest paid Republican staff in the state. Who knows about real grassroots volunteer motion. But I, for one, expect a new frontrunner each week on the GOP side … a lot like the last time around. And maybe the time before that.

Who will be the next to implode? Please stay tuned. And it’s just beginning to be summer, heating up, in New Hampshire. It really can be a sport to watch.

    1. That’s what makes it so much fun right now. Here in the small states, the race isn’t about who has the most money to spend … it’s about the face-to-face encounters … the room to scramble, as you say.
Am looking forward to the chance to see him in person, among others.

  1. I think it will be Jeb Bush. My Northeast republican friends are in Christie’s camp, while I’m in Bernie Sanders’. But I think for the republican primary debates they will need two large semi-circles to fit everyone on the stage.

    1. The GOP side certainly is confusing, and I’m feeling no real energy moving anywhere on that side yet. Here’s a case where the face-to-face encounters of small-state primaries can make a real difference — more than the free-for-all so-called debates or forums.
Keep an eye on Ohio Gov. John Kasich, though — he has the backing of the Sununu clan here in New Hampshire, and that has a lot of potential. Let’s see what he makes of it.

      1. My husband thinks that whoever ends up being the Republican candidate will pick Kasich as VP. That will put Ohio in their pocket.
