They certainly do. A few years ago two skiers were struck during spring skiing while resting in King Ravine. One was seriously injured and the other died.
Here in the Northeast, it’s not uncommon for sections of sidewalk to be roped off to keep pedestrians away from downtown buildings because of the falling ice. Only a narrow passageway to the door is permitted.
Wish I’d taken photos of Burlington, Vermont, a few winters ago. These precautions can be eerie.
