On a hot sunny day in summer, this beach would be jammed with bathers. But that season is short, unlike the cold months and their repeated storms.

Our friend Carolyn has made Yule trees that are essentially all origami figures. Some have been white while others, like the strands shown from this one, are multicolored. The cranes, of course, are prayers for peace.
