where worship
reveals your chosen trail
to whatever end

the piles of stones
or common idols
you pass

tally and map
what’s man-made or natural
harmonizes or quarrels
what’s free, what’s constrained
orderly or disordered

each distinction
within recurring seasons
spread far
or twisted into coves or caverns

what’s open to light
or concealed
to flower or fester

the vision and passion you share

the passion you welcome

~*~

where worship
becomes the place we settle

the way water clears
