WATER, AS IN BAPTISM

the cold muddy stream emerges between meadows
and cattle

the cold clear stream emerges from snow on the mountain

emerges between the unseen and half-seen
lobsters . whales . mermaids of bewitchment

emerges between ballast
in my cellar

emerges, especially, in the well

morning coffee . steam power

a whirlpool . our shower

rust and muck
birth and rebirth
ways of irrigation
and cleansing

wave
in renewing motion

of fishing ports and islands

and emotion – and ice

over the rock . in the river

harboring a world of magic
