HOLIDAY PARADE

It’s quite a colorful contrast to Advent, which starts today. But the Sunday after Thanksgiving traditionally includes the annual holiday parade in our small city – an event that includes marching bands, fire trucks, and assorted enterprises from many of the surrounding communities in New Hampshire and Maine.

Here are some shots from last year as I walked home from meeting from worship. It makes for a festive afternoon.

Children and grandchildren of fire and police personnel get a big role in the parade. Some, like these, march along. Others ride in cruisers and wave over the dashboard. You can see the lineup behind them, waiting to roll.
